Monday AM Prayer Focus: Do Not Lose Heart

September 29, 2013 9:16 PM by Diane

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:16-17

Dear God, As we get older, we notice that our outward body ages. We have aches and pains that we did not have in our youth. It is an irreversible process that causes great concern for many. We buy creams, lotions, and make up to cover the effects. However, we give You praise and glory that our spiritual life does not decay. As long as we are connected to You, spiritually we are renewed and grow stronger over time. Our relationship with You gets richer and deeper. Our understanding increases and we lift our hearts to You in gratitude and thanksgiving. Amen.

Saturday: Jesus Does Not Change

September 27, 2013 8:53 PM by Diane

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8.

Dear Jesus, How wonderful it is to know that You do not change. We do not have to worry that You might change your mind, have a grumpy day, or decide to take a vacation and let everything take care of itself. With You eternity is now. Help us to grow more like You in our daily lives. Amen.

Friday Prayer: With You Always

September 19, 2013 11:09 PM by Dan

...and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age.” Amen.  Matt.28:20

Dear Lord, we thank You for Your presence here and now.  How you are the Lord of the past, present and future.   We thank You for Your desire to be with us and Your love for us.  Help us to understand how close You are.  Give us a heart to stay in Your presence.

Friday Prayer: Mustard Seed

September 12, 2013 10:29 PM by Dan

Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”  Mark 4:30-32

Lord we pray for the growth of faith in our community this day.  We ask that those who have trial and troubles before them would recognize that little seed of faith within them and keep it close in their heart.  Let their faith grow as the "kingdom of God" grows in this parable.  Help us all in our faith to grow as you would desire us to grow in faith dear Lord.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - Pray for those in authority

September 11, 2013 10:27 PM by Roger

"... I urge that entreaties, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority ..."   1 Timothy 2:1-2.

The world needs us to pray for its leaders.  Cannot we not ask for wisdom and benevolence to be granted to those in authority?

Please pray for governments,  for businesses,  for churches and Christian ministries,  for families.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: All Things Are Possible

September 8, 2013 10:48 PM by Diane

But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26.

Dear God, we so easily found ourselves in impossible situations. Some messes are of our own doings and some are beyond our control. As humans we are tempted to fret, worry, get anxious or depressed. But we need to remember Your words to us. Nothing is impossible to You! Sometimes You give us wisdom or insights to light our path through a problem.  Other times You may change the situation. Sometimes You need to change us. We can trust that You love us, hear us, and will work out each circumstance for our good and Your glory. Thank you that nothing can hold You back. Amen.

Saturday: Weakness

September 6, 2013 11:27 PM by Diane

And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distreses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak then I am strong. II Corinthians 12:9-10.

Dear Jesus, Thank you that when we are weak, You are strong. We confess that many times we get overwhelmed, fearful, and depressed. How wonderful to remember that You are always worthy of praise and You have all things under control. Not only that, but You have plans to give us hope and a future. We lift grateful hearts to You. We look to You for help, guidance, and direction knowing that Your grace is sufficient to meet all our needs. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Little Christs

September 5, 2013 11:01 PM by Dan

Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.  But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.   For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.   There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:24-26

Dear Lord we are joyful in the ability to be in your presence.  We thank you for bringing this joy to us.  Help us to remember You all the day long.  Not just in our prayer times, or church times, but in our everyday times, being at home, in the car and about town.  Let us remember that You are driving with us and that you want to make yourself more than known to us.  We thank Your Lord that you will never leave nor forsake us.

Thursday AM Prayer Focus - Filled up to the fullness of God

September 4, 2013 10:21 PM by Roger

St. Paul prays for us revealing God's will.   Ephesians 3:19, "... to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God."

God did not save us to be weak, impotent, fruitless, joyless, sick, discouraged, depressed, and defeated.   The great lie in the garden was that somehow God didn't want us to be like Him.  But that is exactly why we were chosen and created.   We were predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.  He wants us to be just like Him.  Think of this -  we get to know the unknowable.   We get to experience His infinite love.

Let's pray for one another to be filled up.

Monday AM Prayer Focus: No Matter What

September 1, 2013 9:12 PM by Diane

Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fall, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls; Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:17-18.

Dear God, Habakkuk, the prophet, wrote this declaration when the nation of Judah had falling away from You. He declared that he would stand firm in his relationship to You no matter what the circumstance. Let us also stand firm with You no matter our circumstance. Let us cling to You for You are our rock and salvation. Amen.
