Friday Prayer: To Receive Your Power

August 25, 2016 9:31 PM by Dan

I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way

                                                                                     Ephesians 1:16-23

Praise You Lord for Your power and might. You have promised us this same power and might! Wow, this is incredible. If only we would believe as You have called us to believe. We pray today that the church in the Willamette Valley would be brought into a greater depth of belief. That they would deny themselves the pleasures of this world for the truth and sureness of the things to come. Help us to discover Your power today and be strengthened in Your might like never before.

Friday Prayer: Temple of God

August 11, 2016 10:08 PM by Dan

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.

                                                                                                     1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Thank You Father God that You have created man for the Spirit to live within us. Your Word is a strong reminder that our very body is a Holy creation that exists as a dwelling place for You. We pray today that we and Christians throughout this valley will never forget how special we are. Forgive us Lord for the carelessness we've exhibited. Help us to care for this temple. Help us to be kind to our own bodies and stay away from any abuse. Let us rejoice in the body you've given us. Thank you for our lives. Thank you that You dwell within us.

Friday Prayer: Shining

August 4, 2016 10:25 PM by Dan

“While thus occupied, as I journeyed to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me.

                                                                                                                       Acts 26:12-13

Lord You shined Your light on Paul to transform his life. Today we pray that you will transform this city, state and nation. Lord, start by shining on us. Convict us, convince us, confirm us, conform us.  We are not finished by You yet. Much of our city have not experienced the truth of Your word and Your life. We ask that You would do this work as we allow You to shine Your light through us.

Friday Prayer: God's Mercy

July 28, 2016 10:31 PM by Dan

Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses,
For they are from of old.

Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;
According to Your mercy remember me,
For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.

The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way.

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth,
To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

For Your name’s sake, O Lord,
Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.

                                                  Psalm 25:6-11

We humbly come before You merciful God, knowing we are redeemed by You, bought with the price of Your blood. We thank You for this relationship of mercy. All through our lives You care for us, cover us and strengthen us. Today we ask for those who see no mercy in this world. Those who don't have a voice. Those who cannot respond their circumstances. Please help us to care for the needy of Oregon. Help the church in the Willamette Valley be an impact upon those who need mercy. Though this effort let them see Your ultimate mercy to all of us.

Friday Prayer: The Last TIme You Sang To Me

July 21, 2016 9:40 PM by Dan

“I can’t stand your religious meetings.
I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions.
I want nothing to do with your religion projects,
    your pretentious slogans and goals.
I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes,
your public relations and image making.
I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music.
When was the last time you sang to me?
Do you know what I want?
    I want justice—oceans of it.
I want fairness—rivers of it.
    That’s what I want. That’s all I want.              Amos 5:21-24(Msg)

We do want to sing to You today Lord. No ceremony. No slogans. No projects. No fund raising schemes. We simply want to come before You and love You with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength. We search our heart today Lord and dig deeper to clean house and find a place where You can dwell. Give us a pure heart. Genuine in our faith for You. Help us to sing Your song all the day long and know You are listening.

Friday Prayer: Radical Life Change

July 14, 2016 10:03 PM by Dan

You didn’t think, did you, that just by pointing your finger at others you would distract God from seeing all your misdoings and from coming down on you hard? Or did you think that because he’s such a nice God, he’d let you off the hook? Better think this one through from the beginning. God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change

                                                                                                                                 Romans 2:3-4

Lord, I pray today that I would become more transparent. That I would be able confess my sins and repent and get closer to You than ever before. That I would give up pointing fingers. That I would hear Your voice through reading the scriptures and understand that You are calling me to a life of love, kindness, goodness, gentleness and faithfulness.  We praise You today for Your goodness to us as a Father. That You are willing to discipline Your children.  Help us to hear Your voice Lord.  Help us to truly continue to have a radical life-change. Let us not be satisfied with yesterday. Help us to look forward to the new changes You are making in us, the new things that you are teaching us.

Pray to Our God

July 12, 2016 11:05 PM by Diane

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You I will pray. Psalm 5:1-2.

Dear Lord, Only to You will we lift up our prayers. You are the one true God and the center of our worship and adoration. Thank you for allowing us to communicate in this way. You are not far off and indifferent as some think. You listen, understand, care, and know what is best for us in all circumstances.  Let us never take You and prayer for granted. Help us to pray without ceasing. Amen.

Friday Prayer: Public Prayer

July 7, 2016 9:51 PM by Dan

When our days there were ended, we left and started on our journey, while they all, with wives and children, escorted us until we were out of the city. After kneeling down on the beach and praying, we said farewell to one another. Then we went on board the ship, and they returned home again.                                                                               Acts 21:5-6

We are thankful Lord for your Word. Paul's journeys in Acts demonstrate a love for others and a love for You. Even as a group in the great outdoors, they knelt together on the beach and prayed. Help us to have strength in the demonstration of our belief in You dear Lord. Give us courage and strength in character to live out what we believe. We pray for our Willamette Valley and those who work directly with large portions of the public. Help them to be a continual witness of Your love and truth. Help them to be courageous to thoroughly demonstrate their faith in loving others and loving You in their outfacing position of public service.

Friday Prayer: Forgiveness

June 30, 2016 10:10 PM by Dan

For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”  Luke 7:47

Thank you for your forgiveness. We sing and dance and take pure joy in the freedom You have given us. We are free from the chains of sin and shame. We are no longer fearful as we have given our lives into Your protection and Your peace.  Today we pray for those who are bound by unrepentant hearts. We pray for their freedom, their willingness to confess their sin to you and change their ways.

Friday Prayer: The Strength of My Heart

June 16, 2016 10:18 PM by Dan

Whom have I in heaven but You?
And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For, behold, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to You. But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works.

                                                                           Psalm 73:25-28

Lord, you love us through the hard times. You are there to care for all who call on You. For those who cry out. And in Your answer, You have developed a strength and an assurance and a confidence within us.  You have strengthened our hearts and we are so thankful. Help us to rely on You more and more, each and every day of our lives. Give us vision and understanding of Your working within us. You are our refuge, our shelter. Help us to break away from the things that confine us and let us walk in freedom with You.
